Dream Catcher Farm located in beautiful Chester Springs, Pennsylvania, offers Equine Assisted Learning Programs that consist of:  Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) for individual, couples and group sessions, and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) Programs which are geared towards individuals with intellectual disabilities.  These sessions are a collaborative effort between a licensed therapist and an equine professional working with the horse and client to address goals.

The result is a cutting edge model of equine assisted growth and learning designed to facilitate insight, empowerment, and change.  Equine assisted growth and learning is an accredited form of therapy appropriate for individuals, families and groups.  This modality can stand on its own as a form of treatment or can be a powerful adjunct in collaboration with other therapies.

What our clients are saying:

"I learned that fear can be overcome by slowly dealing with it in small steady increments."EAP Client (J.S. 17 year old male)

"I learned how quickly I let my anxiety and fear of emotions send me into 'shut down' mode."EAP Client (P.W. 32 year old female)

"I am here for a reason.  I am important to my family.  I can do things." EAL Client (S.T. 11 year old female)

"Our daughter has struggled with learning challenges all her life.  Severely dyslexic with ADHD and fine & gross motor dysfunction; she has at last found a wonderful environment at Dream Catcher Farm. Despite her challenges and needs she is learning to give back to the horses.  Learning what their needs are; what they eat, what medicine they need, and how to groom and bathe them.  She is able to build her confidence and self esteem with the horses without any harsh criticism that she often faces daily in the two legged world. This is a life long gift for our daughter." Parent of a EAL client (T.H. 11 year old female)

In an era when immediate gratification and the "easy way" are the norm, horses require people to be engaged in physical and mental work to be successful, a valuable characteristic in all aspects of life.
